  • Description:

Our blueberry tea has a lot going for it. It is made with our organic wild Maine blueberries that are harvested in the peak of summer for their sweetness. Then we puree and dehydrate them to preserve that sweet summer taste.

In the fall, we hand harvest our organic wild Maine blueberry leaves when they turn a crimson red color, which means that they are at the peak of their antioxidants. We combine the fruit and the leaves together to make the first-ever Organic Whole Plant Wild Maine Blueberry Tea. It is the real taste of wild Maine in every blueberry.

Organic Wild Harvested Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is a nutrient dense, antioxidant rich forest herb that we harvest sustainably (meaning: when we are out of chaga, we are temporarily out until we harvest again) and ethically (meaning: we will never harm or destroy a tree to harvest chaga) and we only harvest from healthy, living birch trees here in Maine on land that we have been given permission to harvest from and am able to verify as organically certified land approved by MOFGA). We only harvest when the sap is not flowing in the trees. It is important to us that we dry the chaga as soon as it is harvested. We hand grind the organic wild harvested chaga for our tea bags when we need it, providing you with the freshest product possible.

The Organic Lemon Verbena comes from local Maine organic farmers whenever possible or from our trusted source, Mountain Rose Herbs.  Lemon verbena, sometimes called vervain, is generally acknowledged to be the most strongly scented and intense of the lemon scented plants. The scent has moved writers to poetry and prose in an effort to describe its essence, which is both crisp and relaxing at the same time. Because of its scent, lemon verbena is used in making perfumes and toilet water, as well as a flavoring in baking, jelly and preserving. The flavor of lemon verbena has been likened to a cross between licorice and camphor, and it is widely used as an herbal flavoring to replace oregano, particularly in fish and poultry dishes. Lemon verbena was introduced to England in 1700s, and found a comfortable home there, where the deciduous bushes sometimes grow to fifteen feet in height. The plant has an incredibly strong minty-citrus scent that is quite powerful when harvested fresh, however the dried Lemon Verbena is less over-powering and more subtle. It is native to Chile and Peru, but grows quite contentedly in other places. It is used in a similar manner as many other plants with mint or camphor content.

  • Steeping Instructions:

Start with 1 teaspoon and 8 oz of boiled water, let steep in a french press or steeping basket/ball/bag for 10 minutes.  We suggest that when you finish that cup, steep it again with 8 more oz of boiling water.  Keep doing this until you have no more color or flavor.  Enjoy our teas hot or cold.

  • Packaging:

Regular Packaging: This is a food grade plastic bag that is airtight, standup pouch with zip top. This bag can be reused.

Biodegradable Cellophane: This is a wood product. We LOVE that it is biodegradable and compostable. However, this is not a good long term packaging option. Once you receive our teas, please transfer to an airtight container and keep tea out of the heat & light. Best to keep tea airtight and in the refrigerator if storing.
